RARE Full series of 27 volumes. Hardback covers. No dust jackets and in good condition with only minor bumps to hardback covers. Leather binding. Not sure of edition as it just lists the years right up to edition 5. Inside pages are in much better condition that the covers. £100 ONO cash on collection only. Here is what was said when valued by rare list: (www.rarelist.co.uk)----------------------------------------There are three constant versions found with this title and author, your version in 1907 and 1926, plus The Times version. All of which seem to indicate the same value. I would love to know how they compare in all other aspects. One or two other publishers were found I think a French version also. But the drawback is that there are hundreds of this item, but for consistancy we shall ignore the single and part volumes. You have some wonderfully titled volumes, with well researched history, which will now be historically of interest as the views will have altered in modern times. There are those who will dismiss these volumes as out of date, and others who will feel they take up the space of 27 other books they would prefer to collect. But what you have is hopefully uniform and therefore a good to very good research item which is complete. The single volumes can be found for £3 to £10, and the latter should be for those who have that item missing. Some of the complete sets will work out at £10 per volume but to sell this item I think you need to set a more moderate value. So although £300 has been seen I have to take into account the quantity of items seen. You will need to have the best condition also to successfully sell at that price.Your images indicate some rubbing and the much occurring pulling to top of spine where the book has been pulled out from the set.I feel £125 to £150 as the starting price for sets seems to be £135
